Fine 5 Dance Theatre is one of the best-known and the most influential contemporary dance companies in Estonia. Theatre was founded in 1992 when five dancers formed their own troupe. In early 90-ies their work was influenced by traditional modern dance techniques, since the end of 90-ies the working methods have changed, combining various approaches to human movement, somatics and dance as an art form. Since 1997, the key figures of theatre are Rene Nõmmik and Tiina Ollesk. The company has performed in USA, Canada, France, Italy, Sweden, South-Korea, Cyprus, Finland, Poland, Baltic States, Russia and Belorussia.

The performance "WTC" is based on J.S.Bach "The Well-Tempered Clavier" (Book I), written in 1722 "for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study". Musicians spend lot of time training their skills in a long learning process with many repetitions. So do the professional dancers. They work differently but at some level for both, musicians and dancers, these repetitive exercises become something more than just mechanical movements. Choreographers Tiina Ollesk and Renee Nõmmik together with Fine5 dancers created a contemporary dance piece to search new ways of communication with Bach´s timeless music, reflecting ideas and questions about training in contemporary dance, process of developing creative movement ideas in performance and new relationships between music and dance. In „WTC“ Fine5 is creating kinesthetic experience to ask in what ways contemporary dance communicates with Bach´s iconic music today?
